As part of our 'What it is to be healthy' topic, we organised a WOW Day to get all of the children working in the great outdoors and making the most of our wonderful school grounds.
On the day, the children were organised into mixed age teams and given the name of a famous adventurer or explorer. They were given stopwatches to time each activity, a timetable of activities and a supply of rations which they could decide to have at any time. Over the course of the day, the teams independently moved around taking part in activities such as cooking bread over an open fire, building shelters in the wildlife area, bouldering, problem solving, orienteering and problem solving.
We would like to thank Paul Webb of H5 Adventure for running the team building/problem solving games.
The pictures are here
Comments from the children:-
"I loved the WOW Day! Can we do it again next year?"
"Mmmmm - the bread was delicious!"
"We need to work as a team."
"It was fun making the shelters."
On Wednesday 5th March we took a year 5/6 tag rugby team to Burford Secondary School to take part in a tournament.
We won 5 matches and drew 1 - and the children were amazing. It was, therefore, thoroughly deserved when we heard that we had come 1st.
Well done to all of the children that took part, and thank you Bridie Gill for coming to help out at sports club week after week!!

On Thursday 30th January, we took KS2 to London in order to perform at the O2. Both children and staff had an amazing day, singing with the 7500 strong Young Voices choir.
