At Brize Norton Primary School we recognise that the biggest
factor influencing the success of a child in school is the
parents. To help us ensure that we continue to develop effective
systems which allow us to seek and listen to the views of
parents across the school and involve parents in decision making
processes, we have established a Parent Council to represent the
views of the parent body at Brize Norton Primary School.
The aims of the Parent Council are to:
-
Represent the views of all parents through each year
group representative.
-
Report back to all the parents in the school on matters
discussed by the Parent Council.
-
Support the school in its work with pupils and on
matters of school improvement.
-
Give parents a voice and increase their active
involvement in decision-making.
-
Develop a partnership between the school and
parents/carers in order to support and promote the pupils’
learning.
-
Encourage links between the school, parents, pupils,
pre-school groups and the wider community.
The Parent Council is made up of a representative from each year
group. Your parent representative is:

Parent Council has an advisory and consultative role
informing the headteacher and governing body (the strategic
leaders of the school) on matters of importance to the parent
body. They meet once a month and the group is chaired by a
parent. The group report to the headteacher and Governing Body
each term. After each meeting, minutes are circulated to all
parents in the school.
