Jon has started a
new teaching job as Assistant Head at Orian Special Secondary School in
Oxford, in charge of personal development as well as subject teaching.
It is going to be challenging but hopefully very rewarding.
Outside school Bex has now taken on a lead role with S.P.A.J.E.R.S
organising charitable work and events in Bampton. We
recently had
a splendid day with Jon & Bex at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester
to see the new play "I’m Sorry Prime Minister, I Can’t Quite Remember" and
going on to dine at The Lamb in Burford.
Charlie and Hannah
were married in July and Harry has a new job as a sous-chef in Ashford were he lives
with his partner Mollie. Katie is enjoying horse riding and
cycling trips with her dad.
Ju
continues as
Yard Manager and Instructor at Common
Leys Farm Campus,
Abingdon and Witney College, and Steve is traveling
the country installing and servicing ozone equipment, when he isn't
mountain biking.
Rosie has had a
full season competing on Juliet's horse, Denver: dressage, show jumping and cross
country with plenty of rosettes. She has also been in the school hockey team at Buford
School.
No holidays in Greece this year but we have been to Somerset visiting Hestercombe
Gardens, to The Saracen's Head in the Forest of Dean for our wedding anniversary, to the New Forest (Romsey and Lymington), and Shropshire,
and a glorious week in the North Yorkshire Moors in September with
Harry & Irene.
We opened our garden
in June as part of the NGS village event and we were lucky the
thunderstorm started just as we closed the gates at 6pm. We now
have the presentation NGS fork to go with the NGS trowel marking 20
years of garden opening for the NGS.
Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2024.
